Seven-figure prize guarantees have become a regular offering across major online poker sites more so in the past year or two with action on the virtual felt buzzing left and right. Similar to its summer of 2021 festival, US-friendly Winning Poker Network’s flagship series returned earlier this month to once again host its $10,000,000 The Venom tournament. The multi-day event attracted a total of 3,782 entries across five starting flights throughout the weekends of January and February. With each posting the $2,650 buy-in, the generated prize pool recorded $9,455,000 signifying an inevitable overlay valued at $545,000 in order to reach its $10M promise.

Day 2 began with 642 players and only 591 making the minimum payout of $4,000. Out of the massive field, 62 runners advanced to Day 3 with the remaining 8 players making the final table. A whopping $1.18M was originally set for the champion but was eventually agreed that a 50% ICM-based deal was to be arranged in order to significantly reduce the blow of the listed six-figure pay jumps. In the end, it was Austria’s Stefan “BoBomb14” Nemetz who captured the title along with a career-best score of $782,062 for his impressive performance. The 25 year old’s  latest win appears to be his largest one yet with his best cash prior stood at $73,795 for finishing 9th at World Poker Tour’s Venetian Main Event back in March 2021.

Partypoker continues to cut its roster of pros – Gross as latest casualty

The trend continues on through 2022 as partypoker ends more partnerships with their sponsored pros to start the year. It was only a few months ago when well-known ambassador Isaac “Ike” Haxton bid his goodbyes to the major brand after years of service, and this time, it’s poker streamer Jeff Gross as the latest casualty.

My time with PartyPoker is over. It’s been a fun four years, and I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to work with them. I wish them all the best going forward. Happy new year everyone!

— Isaac Haxton (@ikepoker) December 31, 2021

Following the exit of bracelet winner Mikita Badziakouski and Brazilian pro Joao Simao, Gross ended his three year partnership with partypoker revealing sentiments of not being able to commit to a fixed streaming schedule at the moment. Gross however, showed appreciation for the huge opportunity and assured poker fans that he will remain in the scene despite the decision. Currently left on the partypoker’s roster are personalities Kevin Hart, John Duthie, Patrick Leonard, Carl Froch, Yuri Dzivielevski, Benjamin Pollak along with Twitch streamers Jaime Staples, Matt Staples, Courtney Gee, Monica Zukowicz, and Lilian ‘Clae’ Erdmann.

My time as a core streamer for the @partypoker team has come to an end.
It has been a truly incredible 3 years; not only streaming on twitch but working behind the scenes with an incredible group of people. pic.twitter.com/GphUB4ZDg1
